Panama: Casco Viejo

Aware I’ve been writing about Panama and that most of you haven’t had the opportunity to visit, I’ve decided to have Panama Hat Thursdays where I will share glimpse of this fabulous country that has adopted me since my family moved here in 1986.

1673 the Spaniards settled in Casco Viejo after Morgan burned down Panama La Vieja. It’s usually the first stop for tourist that get to visit it’s churches, plazas and museums which are perfect for a day stroll as you get an opportunity to appreciate the architecture of the ruins which still stand today, such as Arco Chato.

Today, Casco is a concoction of bohemian hostels, exquisite restaurants, chic hotels, and bars making this the epicenter of Panama’s night life.
